I know I already mentioned how much I love the fresh fruits of Colombia. I wrote about caimo and guama and some other specialties of the Amazon region, where milk and honey grows. But right now we are in Bogotá, and Bogotá tiene de todo y más!

Paloquemao

Friday afternoon we went to Paloquemao, an indoor market place in the city center. I don’t even know how to start describing the incredible diversity of fuits and vegetables of all shapes and colours which we discovered there. Red beans and black corn, huge green avocados and tiny pink potatoe-like nodules. Mango, papaya and pineapple of course, maracuya and carambola. Tropical fruits from all parts of the country. Giant spiky guanabanas, dark red mora berries, brown zapotos the size of tennis balls… Let me try to show you!
